Introducing the Spring 2009 Smashbox Muse Collection - a simply stunning collection of soft sheer subtle shimmer shades packed with Smashbox innovation and wrapped in the most gorgeous white, paint speckled packaging.
Wowing us at JBD when we had our preview about a month ago - these Spring colours are designed to enhance your make up look, creating natural looks with that hint of more. The concept is the artist's muse and so the design is based on artists' tools - 'oil paint' tubes of luscious lip gloss in the prettiest shades, wooden pencils containing the award winning cream eyeliner putty (incredibly soft and easy to use in stunning colours) a new Blush Rush colour - (you need to try this new blush - it gives the softest almost primer like finish to the cheeks in the prettiest build-uppable colours) a new Hybrid Luminising Primer Shade and the most user friendly eye palette. Top that off with violet Bionic mascara and how stunning is that.
Smashbox Muse enables you to create the looks of the season - vibrant shadow from the Muse Palette can look positively soft and angelic if you use a light touch and wash the colour on lids. Concentrate the deepest colour along the lower lashline, and make eyes really pop by using a volumising mascara in a subtle black violet shade. Complete the look with glossy soft pink lips. But don't take our word for it - handsome Hank at Smashbox shows you so much better than we can say. As he says - Smashbox 'demystifies' make up. And looking at these shades, all we can say is ....perfection!

Vanity Fair described this collection as letting you...
'Unleash your inner artist with the splashy Smashbox Muse Collection.
Packaged in boxes printed with Pollock-esque splatters, the inspiring new line includes Hybrid 2-in-1 Luminizing Primer (it creates a natural sheen), lip paints (mix and match them to find a color of your liking), Bionic mascara (the black-violet shade makes your eyes pop), Artist Eye Palette eye shadows (with delectable names, such as Biscuit, Chocolate, and Dark Celery Green), Cream Eye Liner Artist Pencils, and blush.'
To follow the steps on the video - simply (and it is easy believe me) follow the guidance below
- Step 1: Using the MUSE ARTIST EYE PALETTE and CREASE BRUSH #10, sweep the beige shadow all over lids up to brow bone.
- Step 2: Sketch MUSE CREAM EYE LINER PENCIL in IMPERIAL along the upper lashline.
- Step 3: Blend the deep orchid shadow from the MUSE ARTIST EYE PALETTE along the upper lashline using the ARTIST SHADOW BRUSH.
- Step 4: Apply CREAM EYE LINER PENCIL in LAPIS along the lower lashline and in the inner rim.
- Step 5: Using the ARTIST SHADOW BRUSH, blend the dark blue grey shadow from the ARTIST EYE PALETTE along the lower lashline.
- Step 6: For eyes that really pop, apply multiple coats of BIONIC MASCARA in BLACK VIOLET to upper lashes, then sweep BIONIC MASCARA in JET BLACK along lower lashes.
- Step 7: Add a soft highlight to cheeks by blending HYBRID 2 in 1 LUMINIZING PRIMER over the tops of cheekbones.
- Step 8: Dust MUSE BLUSH RUSH in MASTERPIECE on cheeks using BLUSH BRUSH #16 for a warm peachy flush.
- Step 9: Mix MUSE LIP PAINTS in LUMINARY & ARTISTE for glossy lips with a hint of colour.
